#4 – UP College of Fine Arts

Introduction:

In 1908, the Philippine Assembly under the American colonial administration enacted Act No. 1870, establishing the University of the Philippines. The existing School of Fine Arts became one of UP’s three original founding units, along with the Philippine General Hospital and the College of Agriculture.

For more than a century now, the UP College of Fine Arts remains steadfast in its vision to be the eminent learning institution for arts and design, imbued with a deep sense of humanity that inspires the Filipino to strive for excellence. The UPCFA commits itself to the task of nurturing career artists dedicated to the perfection of their craft and the enrichment of Philippine society.

Introduction:

They produce purely handmade stoneware ceramics, thrown on the potter’s wheel. Their products include kitchen wares, dinner wares, decorative items and corporate giveaways. They also do custom made items based on the designs of their customers.
The glazes used are developed by master craftsman Clemens Wirth, founder and owner until 2014 of THE STONEWAR POTTERY, INC. All glazes are food save: free of lead or other ingredients that might affect the health of the user.
Their whole product line is designed for hotel, spa, beach resort,restaurant and personal use.

All items are oven proof, microwavable, as well as dishwasher proof. As all stoneware pottery, also their products cannot be used on an open flame or electric range.
