Introduction: A stall at Ci Yuan Hawker Centre with its famous starchy Hokkien delicacy. This offshoot branch is currently being managed by the owner himself.
Offerings: Jue Dai Lor Mee’s traditional lor mee comes with braised pork belly, yam roll, shredded fried fish and half a hard-boiled egg. Its gravy is lightly fragrant from the spices used in the cooking and wisps of stirred-in beaten egg give the dish a pleasing appearance. It is starchy enough to cling to the flat yellow noodles, making them slurp-worthy.

2. Yuan Chun Famous Lor Mee
Introduction: Yuan Chun Famous Lor Mee which is listed in the “Michelin Plate”, and appears to be the most under-the-radar, located on the second floor at Amoy Street Food Centre. The stall was originally from Boon Tat Street, and there appears to be a change in ownership. They used to occupy two stalls (now one).
Offerings: Strong five-spice flavoured Lor and deep-fried fish nuggets. The lor or gravy is simmered for many hours with spices, meat stock, egg whites and corn starch to give it a viscous consistency. The key mee used is the flat yellow noodles, though some stalls will do their variations and customers can choose kway teow, bee hoon, or a mixture.

Introduction: Xin Mei Xiang Zheng Zong Lor Mee – a restaurant from the 2019 MICHELIN Guide Singapore. Introduction: Popular coffee shop stall selling Lor Mee, known for their past-midnight opening hours, affordable prices in central Singapore.A well-known spot for supper, especially among taxi drivers.

Introduction: The Lor Mee is very tasty and the toppings are generous at Yew Tee Lor Mee (recentlly rebranded from Feng Zhen Lor Mee). The recipe is made by the owner herself.
Offerings: Special for the generous amount of ingredients and toppings like fried Ngoh Hiang meatballs, prawn rolls, hand made fried pork balls and fish meat. The goopy, thick and starchy gravy far exceeded expectations, especially after mixing in a generous dose of zingy vinegar and everything on the spoon. Explaining exactly how that tasted is a little tricky, considering how it was a combination of sweet, sour, savoury and spicy.

15. Keng Heng Teochew Lor Mee
Introduction: Traditional Teochew Lor Mee with a flavorful kick. It has a unique and fresh taste. They are originally located at Whampoa Drive Food centre. Then, they moved to Lucky Plaza Food Center (Orchard) #B1-99, where they started to get a lot of loyal and supportive customers’ repeat patronage. Currently, they have moved to Golden Mile Food Center #01-63, where they also managed to clinch the King of Kings award (王中王) from the 5th Season hawker centre delicacies award 2012.
Offerings: Their lor mee is a traditional Teochew version where braised eggs are omitted and where there is more emphasis on braised pork and less sweetness in the gravy. Add in liberal heaps of sambal belachan, raw garlic and vinegar on top of the bowl, so when mixing everything well, will get a complex taste of all those flavours as well as the light stock flavour coming from the fairly starchy and sticky gravy.
