Introduction:
Walking is good exercise and I try to make it the recommended minimum 10,000 steps a day but it is not easy when you are working or just in KL doing nothing much.
They walked all the way to Downtown Muar and saw the beautiful and famous murals of The Bond- between a woman and a black tiger.
And then headed into Muar Cultural. Street where there were so many murals on the cultures of Muar and of course Malaysia. This place is just a dream for photographs and practising your photography skills

#4 – Rawa Island
Introduction:
Rawa Island is a coral island in Mersing District, Johor, Malaysia. Nearby islands include Harimau and Mensirip. “Rawa” is the local term for white doves, which are abundant in the island. Rawa is a relatively small island. There are no proper roads, only a few walkways.
About
Rawa island is accessible by a 20 minute speedboat ride from Mersing, Johor. While the majority of our guests choose to drive from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, they are also able to arrange for transport with third party operators to and from Mersing. Secured car parking facilities are available at our Mersing Front Office.
The booking office will contact guests a few days in advance of their stay to confirm their schedules boat transfer time. They would respectfully request that guests keep to their scheduled boat transfer time, in order to ensure prompt service for all guest to and from the island.

#7 – Thekchen Choling Malaysia
Introduction:
Named after the monastery of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Thekchen Choling means ‘Great Mahayana Dharma Temple’.
Their Spiritual Director, Singha Rinpoche, founded the temple in hopes that through the Dharma, both their lay and ordained followers can realise their inner potential for a life of greater fulfilment and happiness.
About
On March 20th 1999, the late Geshe Lama Konchog (now reincarnated as His Eminence Tulku Tenzin Phuntsok Rinpoche), instructed Singha Rinpoche to start a dharma centre. Geshe-la’s vision was to overcome the prevailing belief that one could only practise the Buddhadharma as an ordained Sangha.
Rinpoche rented a house on Thong Soon Road to conduct his Buddhist teachings and activities.

Housed in a double-storey premise at the foot of Bukit Timah Hill, our place of worship relocated here to accommodate a growing student body.
In its first two years of inception, Thekchen Choling transformed
the lives of many followers.
With the blessings of the late Khensur Rinpoche Lama Lhundrup (now reincarnated as His Eminence Thubten Rigsel Rinpoche) during his visit, the temple made plans to secure a permanent premise within the next five years. Meanwhile, we moved into a commercial space in Pasir Panjang to house our ever-expanding crowd of followers.
After a long period of searching and negotiating, Thekchen Choling acquires its own temple building in 2006. Having grown from a cosy apartment into a dharma centre in the city, Thekchen Choling is proud to have become the most active Vajrayana Buddhist temple in Singapore.

#9 – Chong Long Gong Temple
Introduction:
Chong Long Gong Temple is a Chinese Temple that is situated in the fishing village of Segenting, a small town in Minyak Beku , Johor , Malaysia. The temple stands next to the sea and the entire place feels straight out of a movie with the scenic view that is absolutely breathtaking . The deities are very unique to the culture and that makes it a must visit if you are in Batu Pahat for every tourist . It is at a distance of about half an hour from the main town.
About:
The main attraction is the deity of Fu De Zheng God (福德正神) or Tua Pek Kong (大伯公). Other deities worshipped here are the Nezha , The Marshal of Central Altar (中坛元帅) , Dragon Sea Emperor (海龙王)and God of Fortune (财神爷) among others.It also claims to house the legendary fortune fish , the humongous six feet long Arapaima that claims to bring good fortune to those who are able to touch it (fish stroking ).Other things to look out for are the local souvenirs , home baked cookies and snacks and seafood delicacies in the local outlets allowing you to soak the authentic experience of traditional culture.
It is a beautiful photogenic destination that serves an amazing ombre pallet, especially when the sun sets in . Photography is also allowed inside the temple. However , it does get overcrowded during the festive season.
It is not only considered as a religious place of worship , but is also used for educational and cultural purposes. It also attracts tourists because of the village vibe that it radiates .

#10 – Fortune Dragon
Introduction:
The Fortune Dragon Statue in Yong Peng, Johor was completed in 2016 at a cost of RM 8 million. It is said to be the world’s largest dragon tunnel with a length of 115 meters but this cannot be correct since they were building a 21 km long dragon in China’s Henan Province a few years ago, but this massive project attracted some criticism so I don’t know if it was ever completed.
About
The Fortune Dragon snakes its way around the garden and visitors enter through the dragon’s mouth and exit near the tail. Inside there are 144 steps up and down.
The interior walls of the dragon are lined with a series of traditional Chinese paintings with captions in Chinese, Malay and English. The first series of paintings concerns the subject of filial duty and tell stories of sons and daughters who went to great lengths to honour, protect and serve their parents. For example a boy who slept outside his father’s room at night and exposed his bare skin to the bites of swarms of mosquitos so that the bugs would not disturb his father’s sleep. There is no mention of whether the boy caught malaria as a result!
Then there is the story of a son’s wife who breast-fed her aged mother-in-law when the old woman could no longer eat solid food. That’s a bit weird!
The second section of paintings describe the Ten Chambers of Hell and illustrate the gory fate which awaits sinners of various kinds in the next world. This is a theme which you can find in other temples around Malaysia such as Chin Swee Caves Temple and Tua Pek Kong Temple, where they have a similar walk-in dragon, though not as elaborately designed.
The gardens are beautifully landscaped with koi ponds, water features, statues, a temple, gazebos and ornamental planting.
